✿ About the Artist ✿

A woman with long dark hair, wearing a denim jacket and patterned wide-leg pants, stands under a series of concrete arches with a tan wall backdrop, smiling and looking back over her shoulder.

My name is Mirna Tawiah, an artist whose journey has been shaped by resilience, self-discovery, and an unwavering love for creativity. Born in Jordan and raised in the U.S., I’ve lived in the space between two cultures, balancing tradition with the desire for independence. At 18, I made the difficult decision to move out, knowing it would mean being disowned by half of my family. But that choice sparked a journey of personal growth and gave me the strength to carve out my own path in life.

From becoming a mother, to joining the military to experiencing marriage, divorce, and finding love again with a supportive husband, my life has been anything but ordinary. Through it all, art has been my anchor—a therapeutic outlet that has allowed me to express the emotions and challenges that words couldn’t.

What started with animal portraits has slowly grown into something deeper. Today, I create realistic oil and pastel portraits; inspired by softness, strength, and Renaissance beauty. I’m drawn to the quiet power in light, expression, and the storytelling found in small details. My work is deeply personal, yet I hope it holds something universal, something that stirs memory, emotion, or meaning in the viewer.

As I continue to evolve as an artist, I’m excited to share my progress, challenges, and successes along the way. Whether it’s realistic portraits orl quirky designs, every piece I create is a reflection of my journey and the joy I find in the creative process. Thanks for joining me as I figure out where this path will lead!
